Performing Arts, Media & Communication
Students interested in Performing Arts, Media & Communication develop their talents through a deeply arts-infused programme in Music, Theatre, the Visual Arts and/or Dance as well as Media and Communication. Students accepted into the programme devote a significant portion of each week in practice, rehearsal, or studio work.
Students, electing for a more Media and Communication focus, will be part of Regent’s editorial team comprising Regent Student Reporters, who produce an online and physical newspaper, podcasts and blogs which cover a range of subjects. The goal is for students to further develop skills in literacy, presentation, collaboration, and communication besides having a whole lot of fun. Art and creative thinking are present in all facets of life. Our Art curriculum, teachers, and expansive Art studios give students the opportunity to develop their creative thinking and own creative voice.
Central to school life
Our Arts Department has a team of talented and passionate art teachers and allows students to experiment with a wide range of different disciplines such as fine art, digital art, textiles, sculpting, pottery and print-making! We have some outstanding wall art murals that Primary and Secondary students collaborate on around the school.
Music is woven across the entire curriculum at Regent and is central to school life. Regent benefits from the Fortes’ VIP Academy for the Performing Arts and a team of professional music teachers who provide students with varied opportunities to learn a variety of musical instruments and skills.
Every student learns an instrument of his or her choice and many develop mastery and choose to prepare for the Trinity/ABRSM music exams. Gifted students are nurtured to consider music as a choice of higher study, while some choose just to have fun jamming in a band. Regardless, all students develop an appreciation of music and enhance their creativity and self-development.
Also, keep an eye out for the ‘Lunchtime Pop-Up Series‘ where our hottest musicians perform around school and delight all with their musical talents.
With a 380-seat Auditorium for the Performing Arts and inspirational drama teachers, Regent provides students with the opportunity to access, experience and contribute to various aspects of the creative process from script to stage.
All students participate in whole school theatrical productions either as performers or backstage crew.
Some of our most recent productions include Shrek and Madagascar. Our Drama students also regularly enact plays and skits and participate in inter-school competitions.
With our thriving Secondary school, Regent has created a space for our students to express their opinions about subjects beyond their curriculum through the Regent Podcasts. If you’re looking for some interesting perspectives on your way to work, you can find our students on Spotify.
Listen in as our Secondary Students debate and deliberate on a number of topics from and beyond their curriculum.
Are we losing touch with our emotions with the onset of AI? Can the human resource really be replaced? Listen in as our secondary students discuss our future!
The quality of the curriculum provided by the school is outstanding.
It is broad and balanced, and enriched by a wide range of extracurricular activities. A thematic approach is used across the school to develop learning through connections across subjects, context and the pupils’ passions.
Very strong curriculum with rich learning opportunities
that has an impact on the child's progress.
My role model is Elon Musk and to become a tech entrepreneur.
Regent has given me the skills and confidence to get there. In a variety of STEAM & Project-based Learning projects, I have worked with classmates learning to code in Python and Java, build robotic vehicles, and construct IoT sensors. We have won multiple competitions in the UAE and abroad for our tech projects and talent. Remember my name because I promise you will hear a lot more about me.
With an amazing senior leadership team and experienced educators,
a Regent education is interactive and collaborative. They truly make school a rich and memorable experience.
My school feels like home.
I love coming to school every day.
Possibilities are infinite at Regent for a child.
There are no limits to let my child’s imagination grow at Regent. He has become extremely ambitious in his thinking and outlook and what he believes he can do, which is great. Children are encouraged to take chances, try anything and not be afraid.
The strong sense of community makes Regent more than just a great place for study.
It’s a great place for families to get to know each other and make new friends. The Regent community spirit is outstanding.
Regent has given my daughter a new start.
This school has encouraged her to gain confidence and to express herself. The teachers are always available to help. My child has blossomed and is so heartening to see her inner wonder come out.
