The Creative & Performing Arts Concentration
All students are encouraged to develop an interest in the Creative and Performing Arts in Music, Theatre, the Visual Arts and/or Dance. Some students use our programme as a stepping stone for further study at university and a career in the field. The curriculum is essential to cognitive and all-round development and nurturing creativity, public performance, self-confidence and achievement. Students are given multiple opportunities to nurture and develop their performance skills through school musicals and festivals, and assembly performances.
Music
Our Music curriculum develops creativity and cognition, as well as knowledge, understanding and skills so students can master their own choice of instrument(s), develop a love for music and compose in their own unique style.
Drama
Drama forms a strong component of the Performing Arts concentration. In Drama, students learn to express themselves creatively and imaginatively and to communicate with others confidently and effectively. Students participate in drama productions learning the classics, improvisation and experimental theatre and also frequent and critique theatre productions.
Dance
Our Dance curriculum provides students opportunities to develop their knowledge, skills and experience in Dance. Students learn to perform, evaluate and choreograph dance. Students develop dance and artistic prowess and the ability to communicate imagitively and expressively.
