Regent probably has one of the leading digital and computing departments amongst schools in the UAE. A state-of-the-art ‘Applied Innovations Department’ led by an inspirational Regent teacher and thought leader in digital education, provides students with industry-ready and real-world digital skills. The enriched Regent computing curriculum ignites curiosity, nurtures creativity and develops grit – all critical to flourish in the workplace and life.

Our students use high-quality technology resources to personalise learning and access the latest software programmes. Students become power users of Microsoft OneNote, Teams, Office 365 and SharePoint, as well a range of apps strengthening the effectiveness in their learning.

Regent’s Computer Science curriculum deepens student’s knowledge on topics such as robotics, artificial intelligence, graphics, media, web development, Raspberry Pi computers, codeable electronics, and Python programming, preparing them for the GCSEs and A-levels and Computer Science as a career, and enabling them to become fluent technologists given that technology is critical in so many of today’s careers.

Students can also opt to join the “XTeam Elite” where they are called upon to innovate, invent and create using STEAM and design thinking processes solutions to real-life problems. Through this intense and highly enjoyable experience, they learn industry prototyping, and workplace teamwork and leadership skills. The Regent Universe & Regent Galaxy gives KS3 students real-world opportunities to develop an enterprising ethos to create with code, lead & collaborate & innovate their learning with authentic audiences, no matter their favourite subject may be.

By the end of Key Stage 3 (Year 7 to 9), students are securely grounded with industry 4.0-ready skills and aptitudes and are ready to transition into Year 10. 

Competitions – Regent’s Students are Budding Innovators & Technologists
All through school, our students are given multiple opportunities to participate in a variety of coding competitions, hackathons, STEAMathalons and others events. Regent’s students are budding innovators and technologists. They were recognised by DEWA (Dubai Water & Electricity Authority) for creating a SMART Shoe for the visually impaired in the DEWA Robotics Championship; scored 1st place in the UAE’s Design an App Competition; hosted by Aldar Academies; tied for Grittiest Team Award for world’s first AI Golf Tournament for kids: #ParOne STEAMathalon; and scored Bronze, Silver and 1st place in 3 Categories in the Special Olympics’ Unified Robotics Championship.
