High-quality Education and Resources Every Day
A typical day in Key Stage 2 (Year 3 to 6) will begin at 7:15am, when the school gates open and children begin to arrive. Early morning activities set by the teacher will revise key skills as well as give children time to act on feedback previously given by the teacher. Registration takes place at 7:45am, immediately after the national anthem. The children are taught English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and various Topics and Values-in-Action by their class teacher. PE, Music, Computing, French, Arabic and Islamic for Muslim children, are all taught by specialists. During the day, children have a break of 20 minutes and a lunchtime of 1 hour. The school day ends at 2:40pm, when children are collected from the football pitch.
Classrooms in Key Stage 2 (KS2) are very unique. The school adopts a flexible seating approach which allows children to choose a workspace where they feel most comfortable to work. This may be the sofa with laptop tables, the coffee table with cushions (a crowd favourite), the side bench with high chairs or the more traditional table and chairs. Research and children’s own testimonials show this flexible learning approach to be very successful. Children appreciate the freedom and responsibility that comes with it.
