A Love for Learning, Creating and Inventing Begins Here
In Key Stage 1 (Year 1 & 2), students are introduced to the world of digital technology, from iPads, electronic and programmable toys and computers. They are given real-life opportunities to develop real-world skills and character strengths through role-playing, exploring, creating, inventing and messing around with technology. They may even role-play as superheroes or inventors, learning to create, edit and publish small videos. They experience the early stages of the STEAM problem-solving curriculum, creating algorithms and coding solutions to simple problems.
At Regent, we capture each child’s curiosity when they are young. By the end of this Key Stage 1, students develop a broad base of thinking, problem-solving skills and an early awareness of their character strengths that underpin a growing curiosity in solving problems, a love of learning and an eagerness to explore more.
