Digital literacy skills helps students become lifelong learners, the benefits of which succeed past graduation.
Through the thoughtful integration of technology into our everyday lessons, Digital Literacy enables students to actively engage with ideas to enhance the learning experience. Studies show that this critical 21st-century learning skill positively impacts student growth and achievement. Regent benefits from Fortes’ two decades of technical know-how and is a completely technology-enabled school which fosters greater innovation, creativity and impact in our teaching and learning.

Digital Literacy is our way of life
How do you prepare your child for the jobs of tomorrow? In fact, what jobs will exist in 10, 20, 30 years from now? What jobs need to be created? More importantly, what skills, aptitudes and character strengths will be needed by your child in order for them to flourish both now and in the future? Studies show that Digital Learning is a critical 21st-century learning skill that positively impacts student growth and achievement.
Students use our technology to publish work online; submit homework; collaborate with other students on projects; receive classroom instruction and assessments; access the digital library; and plan their diaries and co-curricular and extracurricular activities. We also use technology to track and monitor student achievements, enabling students to identify their character strengths and work towards improving these through Positive Education.
At Regent, we recognise the importance of digital literacy for all learners. We have successfully enabled a ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOD) programme from Year 3 where students bring in laptop and tablet devices that can connect to the school network, internet, Virtual Learning Environment and e-library. They are able to work with greater interactivity, connectivity and collaboration; access information faster; and share, publish and submit their works online. View our BYOD Policy here.
Parents use our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) application to track their child’s progress, educational goals and programmes of study, homework, planning, attendance, behaviour and rewards and recognitions; and to share and receive information with stakeholders in school.
