How Journaling Can Transform Your Life
Maya Angelou, CS Lewis, Einstein and Oprah Winfrey. What do these inspirational role models have in common? They all use one simple tool to intentionally create their best life. Journaling.
Do you have an interest in improving your mental health? Did you know that in 2017 the World Health Organisation said that depression was “the leading cause of ill health and disability worldwide”? What if there was something that you could do to change that? There is substantial scientific evidence now on the power of journaling and the way that it can positively impact our mental health – mental health improves as we validate our emotions and experiences whilst giving them clarity.
Like every new habit – it starts with small changes. Journaling helps us to see patterns in what we think, feel and do. It allows us to understand where we place our energy and what we say yes to. It enables you to pay attention to what really matters to you. Small changes can lead to great leaps as you begin to have a greater understanding of yourself and your world.
The answers are already within you. You just need to allow yourself to access them. Put yourself first on your list and take the time to understand your own happiness. Don’t allow yourself to become exhausted by the business of your daily life. Give yourself time to reflect on what matters and give yourself permission to make your happiness a priority.
Journaling allows you to find balance, develop self-compassion and encourages you to live in authentic way without any need of perfection.
Figure out your own solutions. Answers are already there, if you just allow yourself to access them.
Make sure you are no longer last on that to do list
Understand that happiness is what you think, feel, do; and it helps in each area
As a parent you may notice that you become happier and your relationships may improve with others. It is important to remember that we lead by example and our children are a reflection of us. Journaling can help you build on positive relationships and create joyful lasting memories.
Book your seat now to attend this parent workshop on Monday, Nov 26, 2018, from 8:00am to 9:30am at Regent International School. Learn how journaling can be a useful tool for dealing with anxiety or worry. It allows us to focus on the moment in a mindful manner. It encourages us to find time for yourself and to stop wearing the word “busy” as a badge of honour.
