Secondary students share their career plans – Avinash Jaswani, Year 13

I would like to pursue my dream of becoming an entrepreneur. The whole idea of being my own boss and working long hours to make it big inspires me. Having heard many ‘rags to riches’ stories from different individuals, I have learned that if one puts their mind on something and work hard enough, anything is possible.

In order to achieve my dream I am pursuing a degree in Finance as this is a major and crucial part of any business or firm. This will hopefully give me the skills required for my dream job, but there is also a lot of self-education involved. I plan to work under someone or under several people to gain experience and knowledge soon after I graduate out of university. Then, hopefully, I’ll come back to Dubai to set up my own company and make sure it is successful.
