At Regent International School (RIS) we believe that ‘Every Child Matters’ and that every child has the right to learn and make progress to reach their full potential and beyond.
This year RIS is developing an ‘Individual Needs Department’ (IND) in order to support and encourage every child and ensure that they have access to a curriculum that meets their individual needs.
At RIS ‘Individual Needs’ refers to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and/or those who have English as an Additional Language (EAL); it will also aim to develop to include students who are Gifted and Talented in specific areas.
Our Individual Needs Policy is available for parents to review on the VLE which has the aims of:
-
Raising standards for all students
-
Enabling all students to reach their full potential
-
Ensuring that all students needs are met
-
Enabling all students access to the National Curriculum
-
Providing a more tailored provision for specified students in addition to existing classroom practice
-
Supporting effective differentiation within the classroom
-
Catering for the needs of students who are significantly behind their peers
-
Catering for the needs of students who are significantly ahead of their peers
|
|
RIS is committed to improving the performance of all of its students in need of support by a process of recognition, assessment, diagnosis, intervention and review to remove the barriers that are preventing them from accessing the National Curriculum or preventing them form making appropriate progress.
