Information & Communication Technology (ICT)
The surge in Information Technology has had major global ramifications. To ensure our students are prepared for the challenges that lie ahead, importance is placed on technology and the development of life skills in preparation for our changing world. Society is progressing from the “Information Age” where information quantity was power to the “Knowledge Age” where information-processing skills (research, abstraction, processing and synthesis) are required to sift through the vast amounts of information now available to us through the Internet, books and media. To this end, by providing state-of-the-art technological facilities to our staff and students, RIS aims to be on the leading edge in technological facilities and international certifications providing training that is both current and globally recognised.
Objectives of our ICT Curriculum
RIS’ ICT curriculum follows the National Curriculum for England with the schemes of work following the QCA schemes that are set by the Department for Education and Skills.
Students have access to computers in every class, interactive whiteboards, various educational and multimedia software, a digital library, printers, scanners, digital and video cameras, and the internet.
