Campus Life
A student’s Campus Life at RIS is enriched with a variety of activities that include Team Sports, the Performing Arts (Music and Cultural Activities), and Field Trips, Camps and Outings, all introduced from the Foundation Stage.
Sports and the Performing Arts develop a sense of healthy competition, camaraderie, commitment to training, the development of individual skills, self discipline, leadership, team playing skills, and social contact with other schools which are all seen as important elements in RIS’ education programme.
Music clubs with individual as well as group work is offered in Violin, Cello, Piano, Guitar, Flute, Recorder and Voice. The School has an Orchestra and Choir. We regularly host School concerts and also aim to participate in School music festivals providing our artists with an opportunity to perform in public.
Students express their opinions and have a collective voice through the student-run newspaper, Regent FYI, and the Student Council. Students elect their Leaders and Student Council Representatives who form the Student Council which plans and coordinates student activities. The Student Council encourages a sense of cooperation, responsibility, leadership, service, and school spirit amongst students.
The Student Council has regular meetings with the school’s Senior and Middle Management Team to discuss issues and ideas, and represent the School at certain special events. Students who participate in the student-run newspaper and Student Council develop strong team-playing and leadership skills, besides having a lot of fun, but should be aware that commitment and dedication is required to carry out the role successfully.
