FEE POLICY
|
|
|
Application Fee
- This is a non-refundable payment accompanying the Student Application. This is payable
prior to the assessment and may still result in your child being on a waiting list.
This fee covers the administrative costs of processing an Application. Application
Fee cannot be carried over to another academic year.
Assessment Fee
- This is a one-time, non-refundable payment required at the time of assessment before
admission.
Advance Fee
- The Advance Fee is an annual non-refundable, non-transferable payment, required
to provisionally book a seat. The Advance Fee is deductible against the Term’s Tuition
Fee. For continuing students, the
Advance Fee is due by 15th March to provisionally
book a seat in the next academic year. For new
students, the Advance Fee is due within 3 days
of the offer of a place.
Tuition & Other Fees
- Tuition Fees exclude the cost of uniforms, pencil
cases, costumes for school plays, Learning Support, and Optional Services such as:
Transport; Paid ECAs (RISSPAA); Aftercare, etc.
- All students are required to purchase Student Learning
Packsfrom the School Shop. Textbooks are included as part of the Tuition
Fee for students in Foundation 1 to Year 6. These are deemed to be school property
on loan to each student. The school reserves the right to withhold issuance of Learning
Packs and classroom resources if Tuition Fees are not paid by the due dates.
- The school charges new students tuition fees based on the student's first term of joining
during the academic year.
- Tuition Fees for each term must be paid in advance via 3 cheques or via direct wire
transfer, on the dates indicated on the School’s Fee Structure policy.
- All Fees are non-transferable, and cannot be carried forward to a subsequent academic
term or year.
- Confirmation of a place is subject to payment of full term’s Tuition Fee.
Late Payment
- If Tuition Fees or account balances are not settled by the due dates set by the
school, the school at its exclusive discretion reserves the right to either: a)
levy a pro-rata late payment fee of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance; and/or
b) refuse student from attending classes and/or c) withhold report cards, transfer
certificates and any other documentation; and/or d) withhold the issuance of Learning
Packs or classroom resources or not permit sign-up for extra-curricular activities.
Late Entry
- If a student joins during the academic year, and a place has been reserved for the
student from the beginning of the academic year, then the full Tuition Fees due for
the term unattended from the beginning of the academic year are payable.
- If a student joins at any time during the academic year, the full Tuition Fees for
that term as well as all other relevant fees for the academic year are due.
Student Withdrawal
- If a student withdraws at any time, the fees for Application, Assessment, Advance,
Uniform, Costume for School Plays, Learning Support Fees, and fees for Optional
Services such as Transport, Paid ECAs (RISSPAA) etc., are
non-refundable.
- If a notice for withdrawal of a student is initiated by the school, (excluding suspension/expulsion),
the pro-rata balance of Tuition Fees paid will be refunded after deducting the Application,
Assessment and Advance Fee.
- A student can withdraw from School by providing one full term’s notice in writing
to the School to secure a pro-rata refund of that term’s Tuition Fee, (less application,
assessment and advance), subject to the terms and conditions noted herein, failing
which that term’s Tuition Fee in full shall be charged.
Prior to the start of the Academic
Year
- If a parent informs the school in writing of the intent to withdraw his/her child’s
seat in the next academic year on or before the 31st March
(existing students) and 1st August (new students),
the school will refund the amount paid for Tuition Fees, after deducting the Application
Fee and Advance Fee.
During the Academic Year
- Tuition Fees will be charged for 1 month if a student
attends school for 2 weeks or less.
- Tuition Fees will be charged for 2 months if a
student attends school for more than 2 weeks and less than 1 month.
- Tuition Fees will be charged for that term if a
student attends school for more than 1 month.
Learning Support
The school will assess if a student requires specialised Learning Support (LS),
or instruction during the academic year such as English as a Second Language etc.
The fee for LS is charged separately from the Tuition Fee and this is payable in
advance per term as per LS Policy and LS Fee Structure.
Optional Services
- The fee for all Optional Services are charged separately from the Tuition Fees.
These are payable in advance every term on the dates indicated on the school’s Fee
Structure policy. These fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be
carried forward to the next term/year, in case of absence or illness or change of
arrangements.
- The school reserves the right at its exclusive discretion to revoke a student’s
use of an optional service, without refund, if the student or parent, violates any
one of the conditions / regulations noted in that Optional Service’s policy or guideline
document.
- The fees for Optional Services, the relevant regulations and policies are subject
to change without notice.
- Optional Services are subject to sufficient demand, the availability of resources
and facilities. The school has the right to discontinue an optional service at anytime.
Transportation
The School operates an optional air-conditioned transport service to various parts
of Dubai. Please refer to the Transport Consent Form.
Aftercare Facility
RIS offers an optional Aftercare Facility for Foundation 1 students only (subject
to KHDA approval). Please refer to the Aftercare Consent Form.
RISSPAA
RIS offers optional paid individual or group lessons in popular languages, subjects,
sports, music and hobbies during the year which are separate from the school’s unpaid
extra-curricular activities (ECA). The RISSPAA programme offered is at the School’s
discretion and is governed by a separate policy. RISSPAA programmes are subject
to sufficient student interest, the availability of specialists and vary according
to the subject and programme duration. Please refer to the

FIELD TRIP CONSENT
|
|
|
|
We give our child permission to travel by bus on announced field trips during the
academic year.
We understand that additional information will be provided prior to the actual field
trip and we may decide and inform the school at that time that our child will not
participate. We understand that our child must attend school even if we do not wish
him/her to participate in the school field trip and an alternative educational assignment
will be given at the absolute discretion of the School. Absence from school will
be marked as unauthorised unless covered by a medical certificate.

INDEMNITY
|
|
|
We hereby agree that Regent International School or any members of its staff or
directors / shareholders, or volunteers or helpers of the school, have no responsibility
of whatsoever nature in respect of bodily injury to the our child under any one
of these circumstances:
- Prior to actual delivery of our child into the custody of the said teachers or officials
inside the school grounds, or after our child has been collected from the school
grounds by us or a person authorised by us to do so on a normal school day; or
- Whilst on school grounds before or after the official school timings; or
- At any other time, unless our child is in the direct custody or control of one of
the said teachers, or on a recognised school outing or school function arranged
by the school; or
- Unless the injury is caused by or resulting from:
- The neglectful act or omission of any employee, teacher or other person or persons
authorised to act for or on behalf of the said school.
- Any defect on the premises of the said school.
In addition, I agree:-
- To indemnify and keep indemnified the school and its staff / officials / directors
/ shareholders, in respect of any amounts which the school may pay, in respect of
medical or other expenses arising from accidental bodily injury to our child other
than as set out in 4.
- To indemnify and keep indemnified the said school in respect of any loss or damage
to property belonging to or in the custody or control of the said school caused
by our child.

INFORMATION UPDATES
|
|
|
|
After admission, we agree to regularly update the School’s Admissions Office, with
any changes to the information noted in this Application, especially with regards
to our child’s medical condition and our contact details. We understand that we
can update our contact information and child’s planned absence via the school’s
Virtual Learning Environment (“VLE”).
|
|
MEDIA CONSENT
|
|
|
|
We agree and understand that the school may photograph and/or film our child by
school staff members during his/her education at RIS. We understand that these media
files may be used for the school’s online (VLE, social networking websites, etc.)
and printed publications/advertisements/displays, and that these files shall be
deemed to be the school’s property.
|
|
NETWORK & INTERNET USE
|
|
|
Regent International School provides students, faculty, administrators, parents
(“users”) access to the school’s computer network, Virtual Learning Environment
(“VLE”), and through it, the internet. Access to the school’s IT infrastructure
and networks is an optional privilege provided by the school. Network and internet
access is monitored. The school reserves the right to withdraw or disable users’
access to the school’s network at anytime without notice.
Users of the school’s networks and internet are encouraged use the power of the
web to locate information related to the curriculum, share research, collaborate
on projects and activities, keep abreast of school developments etc., in a responsible,
directed and monitored manner.
The School brings notice to users that there are materials on the internet which
are not suitable for students and educators. Users are not allowed to access or
download material or conduct activities on-line which are pornographic, illegal,
defamatory, or deemed offensive under the School’s policies or laws of the country.
Such conduct will lead to the immediate loss of network access and may lead to other
disciplinary actions.
Users of the school’s network are expected to abide by the school’s guidelines and
policies governing the school’s network, VLE and internet access, which include
the following prohibitions:
- Using the network for any illegal activity, including violation of copyright or
other contracts
- Creating or downloading software or viruses or spy-ware on the school’s networks
- Causing damages to the school’s networks, computers, systems and IT infrastructure
- Using the school’s network to access forbidden web-sites / chat rooms containing
obscene / pornographic / defamatory / offensive material
- Uploading or down-loading defamatory material on the network or sharing this material
via social networking sites / email / instant messenger / VLE etc
- Sending offensive communications or behaving inappropriately with other users
- Using the school’s IT network for commercial or other purposes which are not in
connection with education
- Using the school’s IT network to invade the privacy of other users
- Using the school’s IT network to gain unauthorised access to the school’s confidential
resources, materials and records
If a user violates any one of the above guidelines or the school’s IT / Internet
/ Network Policies, the school reserves the right to confiscate the user’s laptop
and/or suspend network access. All users agree to abide by the School’s regulations
and policies regulating the use of the school network and internet access. The School
reserves the right to change these regulations and policies at any time.

USE OF RESOURCES & EQUIPMENT
|
|
|
|
We understand that our child will be charged for any lost or damaged school resources
including borrowed books and equipment. We understand that the school reserves the
right to withhold our child’s Report and/or Transfer Certificates and/or refuse
admission until our outstanding account balances are settled.
|
|
STUDENT REGISTRATION
|
|
|
|
We understand that all required documents referred to this Application Pack part
of our child’s admission and registration to Regent International School and his/her
statutory registration at the relevant government authorities. We agree to submit
all required documents to the School within 2 calendar weeks
from confirmation of our child's seat and pay the Tuition Fee, failing which may
result in cancellation of our child’s admission by the school.
We understand that if our child joins mid-way through the Academic Year, we will
be required to sign the Late Starter Indemnity.
Regent International School will attempt to register our child at Knowledge and
Human Development Authority (KHDA) and we undertake to cooperate, assist and sign
the paperwork needed by the school to register our child. To this end, we shall
pay the school the required administrative fees in advance of the processing the
application.
We understand that should we not submit all outstanding documentation by the deadline
set by the school, the school will apply for an extension of time to register our
child on our behalf. We agree to pay the administrative fees charged by the school
as a result of us not providing the outstanding documentation on or before the school’s
deadlines.

DECLARATION
|
|
|
|
We, have read, understood and agree to abide to the terms and conditions in our
child’s Application which, incorporates by reference, the school’s policies, rules
and regulations. We declare that all the information provided in this Application
is true and accurate. We agree that the school reserves the right to withdraw the
offer of a place, even after our child has commenced the school if any information
is found to be incorrect.
We understand and agree that this information on this Application forms part of
the documentation required for admission to Regent International School and for
his/her statutory registration with the Knowledge & Human Development Authority
(KHDA) / Ministry of Education (MOE). We agree to complete and sign the Application
before our child can be considered for admission to the School.
We understand and agree that the school reserves the right to suspend attendance
to school and/or withhold our child’s report cards and/or his/her transfer certificates
and/or release any documents we which may request, until we settle all outstanding
balances, return all borrowed school resources and pay for any damages to the school’s
property.
We understand and agree that the school reserves the right to make any changes to
its policies, rules and regulations at its discretion at any time without notice.

EMERGENCY TREATMENT CONSENT
|
|
|
|
Regent International School is covered by Medical & Public Liability Insurance.
In case of an accident or injury to our child, we hereby allow the school to take
necessary action to ensure appropriate medical treatment of our child by the school
Nurse or at a government hospital or clinic, if we cannot be reached at the emergency
numbers noted in this Application.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION CONSENT
|
|
|
|
According to the Dubai Department of Health & Medical Services (DOHMS) guidelines,
all children new to Dubai’s Educational System must undergo a physical exam at certain
key stages in their life: (Upon school entry, Year 5, Year
9 and upon leaving the school)
This service is offered by RIS. However, if you wish to have your child examined
by your family doctor you may do so at your convenience provided that you forward
the school nurse with a copy of the doctor’s report for your child’s health record
at school. (Please tick below)

We would like to reassure parents that all such examinations are supervised by the School’s Nurse.

DECLARATION
|
|
|
|
We declare that we have provided the school relevant health information/record about
our child to the best of our knowledge. We understand that any incorrect or misleading
statements, or omissions, could affect our child’s admission at Regent International
School even after our child commences school.
We have no objection for the School Nurse/Doctor to seek further information either
directly from us or from our General Practitioner or other appropriate Doctor when
necessary.
